Manish Narwal Takes India's Medal Tally To Four At Paris Paralympics

Manish Narwal took India’s medal tally to four at the Paris Paralympics after clinching a bronze medal in the mixed 50m pistol with a silver in the 10m air pistol SH1 event in Paris on Friday.

The ace Indian para shooter added to his medal-winning streak after clinching a gold medal in the Mixed 50 m pistol SH1 at the Tokyo Paralympics. He shot a total of 234.9 to finish behind South Korea’s Jeongdu Jo who shot a total of 237.4 while Yang Chao scored 214.3 points to take the third spot on the podium.

Narwal improvised on his fourth finish in the qualifying event where he bagged 565 points. In the finals, he lost momentum in the final six shots, after hitting his best shot of 10.1. He struggled to put his best foot forward under pressure as he shot 8.9 and 9.9 in the gold shootout while his counter-part Jo shot an incredible 10.7 to take the upper hand and later followed it up with a shot of 8.7.

It was India’s fourth medal at the Paris Paralympics after ace Indian para-shooters Avani Lakhera and Mona Agarwal started the day with a gold and bronze medal respectively while Preethi Pal bagged a bronze in the track & field event.
