"Other Board Will Wag Their Tails": Ex-Pakistan Player On BCCI's Stance For Champions Trophy 2025

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) laid out a draft for Team India’s participation in the Champions Trophy 2025, starting in February. As per the initial draft, all the matches for Team India are scheduled to take place in Lahore due to security concerns. However, it is unlikely that the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) will accept their proposal and send the national team to Pakistan.

It is, thus, likely that Team India’s matches will be moved out of Pakistan. Taking a dig at BCCI’s stance, former Pakistan star Basit Ali said that other boards will wag their tail and do what BCCI secretary Jay Shah says.

“5-6 boards jo haina dum hilate huye woh baat karenge jo Jay Shah bolenge. [There are 5-6 board who will wag their tails and do what Jay Shah says],” Ali said on his YouTube channel.

Furthermore, Ali also advised the PCB to not visit any other country for the marquee event if the BCCI doesn’t visit theirs. “The Pakistan board should say no to playing in a third country. If India are not willing to play in our country, then we shouldn’t agree to play the series in another country either,” he said.

Incidentally, Team India has not visited Pakistan since 2008 due to the government implications after the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai. The last time Pakistan toured India for a bilateral series was in 2012-13. Since then, the arch-rivals have competed against each other only in the ICC events and Asia Cup.
