Indian Grandmaster R. Praggnanandhaa became first Indian chess player to enter World Cup semis after legendary Vishy Anand as he defeated another Indian Grandmaster Erigaisi Arjun 5-4 via the sudden death of the Fide World Cup chess tournament in Baku, Azerbaijan on Thursday.
In the semis, the 18-year-old Praggnanandhaa, a chess prodigy who became an international master at the age of 10, the youngest at the time to do so, will face off against American Fabiano Caruana.
World number one Magnus Carlsen has also made the semis.
