Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar welcomed Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma”s son, Akaay, with a warm message on social media. Kohli and Anushka had announced the birth of their second child on Tuesday. Following this, plenty of heartfelt messages were poured on social media to welcome their child.

“With abundant happiness and our hearts all of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika”s little brother into this world! We seek your blessings and good wishes in this beautiful time in our lives. We request you to kindly respect our privacy at this time. Love & Gratitude. Virat & Anushka,” read the Instagram post.

“Congratulations to Virat and Anushka on the arrival of Akaay, a precious addition to your beautiful family! Just like his name lights up the room, may he fill your world with endless joy and laughter. Here”s to the adventures and memories you”ll cherish forever. Welcome to the world, little champ!”, Tendulkar said on X.

There were speculations on Kohli missing the first four Test matches against England. His RCB teammate and former South Africa captain AB de Villiers had suggested that he missed out on the matches to stay with Anushka for the birth of their second child. However, he took a U-turn on his statement, and said that he shared a false information.

Earlier, the BCCI had announced that Kohli had pulled out of the first two tests due to “personal reasons”. He had landed to join the squad in Hyderabad on the same day but flew back. There is no clear reason given by the board for Kohli’s absence with their last statement mentioning: “Virat has spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors and has emphasised that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention.”

Kohli made his last Test appearance India”s last overseas tour to South Africa. He will not be a part of the Indian squad during the entire Test series against England. It is likely that he will be back in cricketing action in the IPL 2024 for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
