CERT-In, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, has released a high-severity warning about “multiple vulnerabilities” in the Google Chrome web browser. CERT-In says that these major security lapses could give access to a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and cause a denial of service condition on the targeted system.

In a vulnerability note issued on October 11, CERT-In also advised the Google Chrome users to “apply appropriate updates as mentioned by the vendor”. “A remote attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by sending a specially crafted request to the targeted system,” CERT-In mentioned in its statement.

Earlier on October 9, the CERT-In also issued a high-severity warning for Android users. They said that they have identified multiple vulnerabilities within the Android operating system, and this could potentially allow cybercriminals to access sensitive user data. The affected Android software versions are 11, 12, 12L, and 13. Users were also asked to update their Android operating systems to prevent the security threats.
