The recently concluded Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 witnessed the launch of numerous innovative and potentially impactful products. Artificial intelligence (AI)-infused unique gadgets were the highlight of the first major consumer tech show of the year. Tech giants and small startups introduced their latest innovations, which have the ability to change how people interact with technology.
A pocket-sized AI device named Rabbit R1 was the star of the event. This tiny device, with a 2.88-inch touchscreen color display, was introduced by the Santa Monica-based AI startup Rabbit. It is capable of performing various functions, including controlling the apps, sending texts, and ordering things. Notably, this device uses Rabbit OS, powered by the “Large Action Model” (LAM). Users can interact with the Rabbit AI by pressing and holding the “Push-to-Talk” button. This dedicated personal assistant, powered by AI, will be available in the United States soon.
Transparent display prototypes also grabbed attention at CES 2024. LG Electronics (LG) has unveiled the world’s first wireless transparent OLED TV. According to LG, this innovation combines a transparent 4K OLED screen and LG’s wireless video and audio transmission technology to “transform the screen experience.” The company says that a transparent OLED screen removes the usual constraints that come with conventional TVs. At the same time, Samsung also unveiled the transparent micro-LED display at the event. According to Samsung, its Micro-LED display technology produces brighter, clearer images and is more transparent.
At CES 2024, Baracoda surprised the audience by unveiling BMind, a smart mirror for mental wellness and managing stress. The company claims that the smart mirror, which is powered by generative AI for conversation and coaching experiences, provides personalized recommendations and experiences based on a user’s mental state. It is developed on a new generation of smart mirror software from the CareOS platform. BMind identifies various sentiments and adapts to the user’s mood by providing light therapy sessions and personalized, auto-generated mindfulness exercises.
Samsung Electronics also introduced various products at the tech summit. A new version of its AI home companion robot, Ballie, was among the notable products. Ballie is capable of acting as a personal home assistant, autonomously driving around the home to complete different tasks. According to Samsung, this household assistant robot continually learns from users’ patterns and habits to provide smarter and more personalized services.
Withings arrived at the event with their 4-in-1 vital monitor, named Withings BeamO. This device measures the temperature of the user, takes electrocardiograms, reads blood oxygen levels, and also works as a stethoscope. With the BeamO, a palm-size tool, Withings is all set to make an impact in the smart healthcare segment.
