Samsung Electronics has unveiled the world”s first transparent Micro-LED display at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024. The company has showcased the transparent display side-by-side with transparent OLED and transparent LCD models to underline the differences between the technologies.
Samsung claims that its Micro-LED display technology produces brighter, clearer images and is more transparent. This simply means that we will be able to see objects behind it. Also, this innovative display has a frameless design. The TVs are thin, measuring about a centimeter in thickness. Notably, the South Korean giant has not yet revealed the price of this display or when this technology will be available to consumers.
“Combining superior craftsmanship with six years of tireless research and development, this new modular MICRO LED wowed attendees with its futuristic design.” wrote the company in a statement. Samsung also claimed that the transparent MicroLED”s crystal-clear, glass-like display has “revolutionized” the viewing experience and attracted the attention of global consumers. Micro-LED is a display technology that uses millions of tiny LEDs to develop an image.
Apart from this, Samsung has also revealed its much-anticipated 2024 TV lineup, which includes the latest Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, OLED, and Lifestyle displays. Samsung has also integrated AI-powered functions into its latest TVs. The company has powered the 2024 Neo QLED 8K with the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor. According to Samsung, this TV processor has a neural processing unit (NPU) that is twice as fast as that of the previous model. “8K AI Upscaling Pro’ and ‘Real Depth Enhancer Pro’ are considered to be the notable AI features in the Samsung Neo QLED 8K lineup.
