Motorola introduced a unique smartphone design concept during the recent Lenovo Tech World ’23 event in Texas. Motorola”s “Adaptive Display Concept” refers to a device that can even be bent to fit around the user”s entire wrist, and the device can be worn like a watch.

Motorola revealed that the conceptual device is equipped with a FHD+ pOLED display that can be bent and shaped into various forms based on users’ needs. “This adaptive display concept further builds upon the display and mechanical innovations from our foldable and rollable devices in both the smartphone and PC categories,” Motorola said in its statement. The company says that the 6.9-inch display can be bent into a C-shape, and users can wear and operate it like a smartwatch. The device can also be adjusted into a self-standing position, and it offers a 4.6-inch display. However, Motorola has not mentioned when this device will hit the global market.

With this flexible display technology, Motorola is planning to bring a fresh concept to the smartphone industry. This move also clearly indicates that future smartphones will mainly focus on foldable designs. It should be noted that Lenovo also unveiled a similar concept in 2016. Apart from this unique technology, Motorola also revealed a new set of AI concepts. Lenovo, which is operating Motorola, is developing a personal assistant named MotoAI for both PCs and smartphones. Motorola announced that users can engage with their personal MotoAI assistant to answer questions, draft messages, schedule tasks, and much more. Motorola also launched a Privacy Content Obfuscation concept that can protect user privacy by blurring areas containing personal information in social posts.
