US-based technology giant Google, during its annual ‘Made By Google’ event, introduced the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones, and the Pixel Watch 2. The new Pixel series are equipped with different major features including secure face authentication, seven years of software support and built-in thermometer. The Pixel Watch 2 also got significant improvements over the previous version. The annual “Made by Google” event was held in New York City on Wednesday. The event also highlighted the tech giant”s emphasis on artificial intelligence as the product features allow integration with the AI.

The much-awaited Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are equipped with the new Google Tensor G3. It is Google”s third generation of its custom silicon processor. Google also claims that the tensor G3 features a powerful machine learning model and Pixel 8 lineup have more AI capabilities. Both Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro arrive with 50-megapixel wide cameras with 2x optical zoom and 10.5MP selfie cameras. The Pixel 8 Pro has improved light-gathering capabilities in the camera department.

In terms of display size, the Pixel 8 is having a 6.2-inch screen and the Pixel 8 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch display. Google says that the Pixel 8 has an “Actua display” and the Pixel 8 Pro has a “Super Actua display.” Also, both devices support a screen refresh rate up to 120-Hz. The design of these phones looks very similar to Pixel 7 series. The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are backed by 4,575mAh and 5,050mAh batteries, respectively. The price of Pixel 8 starts at $699 and the Pixel 8 Pro at $999. Both devices will be available in the global market from 12 October.

The Pixel Watch 2, which has a price range starting at ₹39,900 in India, is made from 100 percent recycled aluminum. It operates on quad-core CPU, which gives stronger performance. Google has also added an improved multi-path heart rate sensor in Pixel watch 2. The pre-orders are available now for the device with deliveries starting from 13 October. Google also unveiled the Google Pixel Buds Pro during the annual event, which supports Bluetooth Super Wideband on Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. It will be available in two extra colors: bay and porcelain.
