Thousands of Reliance Jio users reported network issues on Tuesday (Today) particularly in Mumbai according to Downdetector. The sudden outage affected mobile services, the internet, and Jio AirFiber as well and over 10,000 complaints were filed within an hour as per Downdetector (a website that tracks outages). According to Reuters, a fire at a Reliance Jio data centre was the reason behind the outage and the company stated that the issue has been resolved.
The disruption has caused significant inconvenience with 67% of users reporting no signal at least 20% facing internet issues and 14% experiencing problems with Jio Fiber. Some users claimed the outage was due to a fire at a Jio data centre before the official statement of Reliance Jio.

Meanwhile, Jio customers took this to social media to express frustration and disappointment, making #JioDown a trending hashtag. Many reached out to Jio’s official account for assistance and sought information on when the issue would be resolved.

Another user said that the outage was due to the sudden fire caused at the Jio data centre and has been informed to restore all Jio networks as soon as possible.
