Jio Teams Up With SpaceX To Bring Starlink's High-Speed Internet To India
Mumbai, India: Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) announced a new partnership with SpaceX on Wednesday to offer Starlink’s high-speed broadband internet services to its customers across India.
This partnership, pending SpaceX’s receipt of required regulatory approvals to operate in India, will allow Jio to expand its service offerings by integrating Starlink’s satellite internet solutions into its network.
The collaboration is said to deliver reliable, high-speed internet to even the most remote and rural areas of India, where traditional broadband services have been difficult to access.

Jio will offer Starlink’s broadband solutions through its retail outlets and online platforms, making it easy for consumers to access this advanced technology.
Jio, the world’s largest mobile operator by data traffic, and Starlink, the leader in low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks, will combine their expertise to ensure seamless broadband connectivity across the country.
Jio plans to provide Starlink equipment through its stores and will set up a system to support installation and customer service for the service.
This strategic move is aligned with Jio’s broader move to ensure that high-speed internet is accessible to all businesses, small and medium enterprises, and communities across India.
By integrating Starlink with Jio’s existing broadband solutions like JioFiber and JioAirFiber, the company claimed to address some of the most challenging connectivity needs in India, particularly in remote locations.
“Our mission is to ensure every Indian, regardless of their location, has access to affordable and high-speed internet,” said Mathew Oommen, Group CEO of Reliance Jio.
“Our collaboration with SpaceX brings us one step closer to achieving this goal and represents a transformative milestone in India’s connectivity journey. By bringing Starlink into our ecosystem, we are expanding the reach and reliability of high-speed internet services across India, empowering communities and businesses for the future,” he added.
“We commend Jio’s commitment to advancing connectivity in India. We look forward to receiving authorization from the Indian government and working together with Jio to expand access to Starlink’s high-speed internet services for millions of people, businesses, and organizations across the country,” said Gwynne Shotwell, President and COO of SpaceX.
