Mark Zuckerberg Slams Apple Vision Pro Again

The tech world is witnessing a battle between Apple and Meta Platforms over their VR headsets. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently compared the Meta Quest 3 with Apple”s Vision Pro. The Meta chief also said that Meta’s product was better. The tech leader has once again criticised Apple”s headset.

In a post on Threads on Friday, Meta”s CEO said that Quest is “better.” Zuckerberg made this response in a recent exchange with Benedict Evans, a partner at Mosaic Ventures. “There are a lot of limitations to the Vision Pro, but I am genuinely baffled by Meta VR engineers claiming it”s “basically just the same thing” as the Quest,” said Benedict in a post on Threads. For this post, the Meta CEO replied, highlighting concerns about the Vision Pro”s weight and motion blur.

“I don”t think we”re saying the devices are the same. We”re saying Quest is better. If our devices weigh as much as theirs in 3-5 years, or have the motion blur theirs has, or the lack of precision inputs, etc, then that means we”ll have regressed significantly,” replied Zuckerberg. He also said that the Apple Vision Pro”s resolution is higher. However, Zuckerberg noted that Apple paid for this resolution with many other “product tradeoffs.”

“Yes, their resolution is higher, but they paid for that with many other product tradeoffs that make their device worse in most ways. That”s not what we aspire to,” added the tech leader in his post.

The highly anticipated Apple Vision Pro was launched in the US market on February 2. The pricing of this headset starts at $3,499 for the base model. Apple’s latest technology aims to transform interaction with digital content. The main highlight of the Apple Vision Pro is that users can control the headset with eye and hand tracking.
