Apple’s new facewear will compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses, which is enjoying popularity with consumers.

Towards the end of this year, Apple will start producing large quantities of prototypes of the devices with overseas suppliers, the report said.

An earlier report also mentioned that tech giant was forming custom chips to power its future smart glasses. These chips, apparently, consume less energy than those found in iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

The Cupertino giant is planning to launch mass production of the chips as early as next year, with a late 2026 launch in focus, the report added.
