Skype Is Now Ad-Free: Microsoft Set To Remove Ads From The Platform

The tech giant  Microsoft‘s one of the most used professional platforms Skype, is set to eliminate its ads soon. The company is making it ad-free through an update which will be rolled out across all Skype platforms. This update will also allow users to use AI image-creation tools on Skype for all Windows and macOS users. This will also enable users to automatically sign in on iOS if the user has already signed into any of Microsoft’s apps.

Skype product manager Irene Namuganyi said that the latest update is set to remove all ads from the Skype channels and eliminate entire ads from its platform which would further provide an enhanced and enjoyable user experience. In the new update, users will no longer witness ads coming in the main chat interface. It will not pop up in the channels sections as well.

Microsoft acknowledged that the company received various opinions and feedback on its ads popping up on the Skype platform and has planned to eliminate them to keep users focused on their chats without further distraction.

The company tries to make it more user-friendly, decluttering the unwanted items from the Skype platform. Along with that Microsoft may deploy enhanced AI image creation inside the chat windows. The user can access the AI image creation tool on both Windows and macOS. macOS users can explore more AI-image creation tools with in-built designs on the Apple device.

Through OneAuth integration, macOS users will be able to sign in to Skype if they’ve signed into any other Microsoft apps already. The company is working on the updates and if users face issues with sending photos or videos on the app over 5G connectivity, the app will fix the issues in the next updates, as per The Verge.
