As per the reports, WhatsApp is working on a feature to transcribe voice notes for users. The new transcribe feature will facilitate the translation of five different languages including Hindi.
The new feature apparently has tested internally on the Android 2.24.7.8 beta version.
As per the report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will add voice-transcribe feature as a new section in the app and users can select from five languages. These languages will be, English, Hindi, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian and Spanish, report denotes.

When the user chooses a language for voice transcribing, the app will download a package for the selected language and it will reportedly enable transcription. The transcript package will enable the language to be processed locally on the user’s phone or computer or tablet. Report states that the voice transcription feature will also ensure end-to-end encryption. Besides, there is possibility of more languages to be added in the future.

“Offering the option to choose the language of voice transcripts brings significant advantages to the user experience, as it will enhance accessibility for users who communicate in different languages. This will ensure that users can read and understand voice notes in their preferred language. In addition, it will improve the accuracy of transcriptions by using language-specific speech recognition. It’s worth noting that users will have the flexibility to choose a different language for specific voice notes as needed,” WeBetaInfo informed in a post.

Besides, the feature will be immensely useful to for those who prefer texts instead of voice notes, at the same time, wanted to save time from writing long texts. Also, in the case of listeners who do not want to listen voice notes or finding it inconvenient to access in public place, this WhatsApp feature will be great boon.
