Saudi Arabia is known for its sand dunes and desert lands. But with the help of the ambitious Vision 2030, the Kingdom is setting up a picturesque green space with both fauna and flora making its way in the Saudi capital.
One can find, in the heart of Riyadh, the largest urban park in the world. From arts and culture to sports, innovation and entertainment, the King Salman Park in Saudi Arabia is the next big destination for all nature lovers.

Launched in 2019 by King Salman bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the park is scheduled to open in 2025. The park covers about 16.6 sq. km and aims to expand the city’s green spaces and improve the quality of life.
The King Salman Park will be seven times the size of Hyde Park in London and Central Park in New York. Situated on the former Riyadh Air Base, the park will operate as a home to a large variety of animal and plant life.

Over 11.6 sq. km of the space is expected to be dedicated to green space with over a million trees planted.
The architecture of the park will also include an Islamic style garden, vertical gardens, a maze garden, along with a bird and butterfly sanctuary.
The Kingdom aims to diversify its economy away from oil and towards developing its tourism and industry to expand the private sector, and create more jobs through a plan called ‘Vision 2030′ which was launched in 2016.
