Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Muhammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved Dubai”s maritime transport network plan. The master plan aims to serve 22 million passengers by 2030, said Mr. Hamdan on X (formerly twitter).

According to a report, during his visit to Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), Mr. Hamdan analysed plans to escalate Dubai”s maritime transport system by 2030. The plan aims to increase 51% in the number of marine transport users from 14.7 million to 22.2 million annually by 2030.

He also went through RTA”s initiative to manufacture world”s first electric Abra using 3D printing technology in partnership with the private sector. The Abra features aesthetic and heritage cues of the original Abra and is designed to take 20 passengers at a time.

Sheikh Hamdan was also made aware of the predictive maintenance system for marine transports which is installing monitoring devices and sensors on board. This arrangements will aid to conduct testing on the validate precision of data and thus greatly assisting in ensuring the safety.

Mr. Hamdan also met with Hanadi Muhammed Al Doseri, first Emirati woman to captain a mass marine transport vessel. Mr. Hamad pronounced his appreciation outstanding example shown by Emirati women in various sectors and their relentless pursuit of excellence.
