Reportedly, the Israelis and Iranians are bracing up for what is to come. Apparently, the two governments got out of their shadow-war phase, and started the tit-for-tat game. Even US, the closest ally of Israel is all set to intervene, should Iran wage a full-on war on Tel Aviv.
Washington will also maintain an aircraft carrier presence in West Asia as Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered the USS Abraham Lincoln to replace the USS Theodore Roosevelt that was on a short-term deployment to the region.
“We’ve demonstrated since October and again in April [that] the United States’ global defense is dynamic, and the department retains the capability to deploy on short notice to meet evolving national security threats,” Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh told reporters.

After Israel has assassinated Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukur in Beirut, and Hamas political head, Ismail Haniyeh, two high-profile officials of groups linked to Iran, Tehran is bound to retaliate in the harshest way, say experts. While Israeli claimed responsibility of killing Shukur, the occupation force kept silent on Haniyeh’s assassination.
Singh told reporters that the decision to increase the US’s military capabilities in the Middle East came after high-level calls with Israeli officials. She said US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin held a call with his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant. An earlier call had occurred between US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) may not let the brazen act of Haniyeh’s assassination pass lightly. Especially, when it took place while the key leader of Gaza resistance group was assassinated in Tehran. It was humiliating for IRGC, who are charged with protecting visiting foreign dignitaries and coordinating “axis of resistance” – a number of regional militias funded and supported by Iran, including Hezbollah, and Hamas.
There are also report that Tehran might not involve in a full-fledged war, and try to avoid causing destruction in their homeland. The high and stronger use of its proxy teams cannot be equated out, as Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthi’s are also equally wounded by Israel’s recent acts, and pledged hefty payback.
