Loud Explosion Hits Near US Embassy In Norway; Probe Underway

Oslo, Norway: An explosion has reportedly struck the US embassy in Oslo on Sunday morning, causing minor structural damage to the facility. The explosion took place at around 1 am local time near the embassy compound in western Oslo.

Locals reportedly smoke rising from the US embassy building, with police also confirming the blast in the US embassy. The blast hit at the entrance to the consular section, said Police spokesperson Mikael Dellemyr.

There are no reports of any injured persons, police said in a statement, adding that probe are underway in to the incident. The embassy had not responded to the blast incident and the US State Department also did not provide an immediate comment.

Notably, the explosion happens at a time when the US-Israel forces are actively attacking several targets in the West Asia, especially across Iran. Iran has been carrying out retaliatory strikes at US military bases in the region.

However, whether the Oslo incident is linked to the Middle East conflict is yet to be asercertained.
