"Not A Star On American Flag": Minister Tells US As Israel Wows War For Rest Of The Year

Israeli Defense Force spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, in a new year’s message said the occupation force expect its war on Gaza to continue throughout 2024. He said troop deployment process is going on as a preparation for the “prolonged fighting”. He said, some reservist troops will be withdrawn to allow them to regroup.

“These adaptations are intended to ensure the planning and preparation for continuing the war in 2024…the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) must plan ahead out of an understanding that there will be additional missions and the fighting will continue the rest of the year”, said Hagari, as quoted by Al Jazeera. Earlier, the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel is fighting “on all fronts” and “the war will continue for many more months”.

Earlier, the Israeli airstrike has killed Hamas chief Saleh al-Arouri in Lebanon. While the Israeli government did not claim the responsibility of the killing of Hamas official, a prominent Israeli lawmaker, Danny Danon congratulated “the IDF (military), Shin Bet, the Mossad and security forces for killing senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut”.

Taking to social media platform X (formerly twitter), he said anyone who is involved in the October 7th “massacre should know that we will reach out to them and close the account with them”.

Meanwhile, Itamar Ben-Gvir, Israeli National Security Minister, hit back at US State Department’s rejection on Israel’s claim about making Gaza “bloom” if only it have 100,000 Palestinians in it. Bezalel Smotrich, Israel’s Finance Minister, “voluntary migration” of the Gazans is the “humanitarian solution” to the brutal war.

US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said Gaza will remain as the land of Palestinians. in a response to this, Ben-Gvir hit back at US by saying that Israel is not another star on “American flag”.

On his X platform, he said “with all due respect, we are not another star on the American flag. The United States is our best friend, but first of all, we will do what is best for the State of Israel”. The far-right leader said that the voluntary migration of the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from Gaza will “allow (Israeli) residents of the enclave to return home and live in security and will protect the soldiers”.
