Saudi Arabia Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed their condemnation and denunciation of the storming of Al Aqsa Mosque by Israeli occupation forces.

The Ministry affirms that these practices are considered blatant violation of all international norms, convention and provocation to the feelings of Muslims around the world.

Saudi Arabia issued the statement early on Monday after a group extremists visited Temple Mount on Sunday as a part of  Rosh Hashanah celebrations, says The Jerusalem Post. The Jews made the pilgrimage to the mount on Sunday.

Rosh Hashanah, meaning “head of the year” in Hebrew, is the celebration of the Jewish New Year.

The Saudi government holds the Israel forces fully responsible for the repercussions of these continued violation. And it has also urged the international community to interfere in ending the escalation of the Israeli occupation and also to provide the necessary protection for the civilians.

As per Al Jazeera, Israel forces attacked Palestinian worshippers at Bab as-Silsila, one of the main entrances to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem.

Israel forces had imposed tight security measures on Sunday around the mosque. They have also denied the access to any Palestinian below the age of 50, so that the Israel settlers can celebrate Rosh Hashanah.

As per the news outlet AL- Mayadeen, a number of Muslim worshippers who had gathered for dawn prayers were objected to harassment by Israeli settlers.

Israeli forces “physically assaulted and beat up three worshippers”, including an elderly man and elderly woman, near Bab as-Silsila, Palestinian news agency WAFA said.

Video footages of the incident is being circulated in the social media.
