'Strait Of Hormuz Declared Fully Open To Commercial Vessels', Iran Announces

Tehran, Iran: The Islamic Republic of Iran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz, which had been closed since the US and Israel launched war against Iran, has fully opened for all commercial vessels for the remaining period of the ceasefire.

Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi said the Strait is open, in line with Lebanon ceasefire. US president Donald Trump also announced the news in his social media platform Truth. The closure of the Strait had severely affected the countries around the world, disrupting the oil supply in the crucial international waterway.

Trump said, “Iran just announced that the Strait of of Iran is fully open and ready for full passage.” The decision comes hours after Trump declared Israel-Lebanon ceasefire on Friday.

The Iranian foreign minister wrote on X, “In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of ceasefire, on the coordinated route as already announced by Ports and Maritime Organisation of the Islamic Rep. of Iran.”

The disruption of the oil supply had created unease in several countries, triggering potential economic woes due to the shortage of gas and other petroleum products.
