Nationwide protests have broke out in Bangladesh and the PM has reportedly resigned from the office and has left Bangladesh. Bangladesh Army Chief Waker Uz Zaman addressed the country and said that Sheikh Hasina has resigned and the Army has taken over the machinery. Interim Government is to be formed now, the army chief said. According to the chief, the interim government will be ready by today.

The Bangladesh army chief asked people to cooperate and refrain from violence.
