Six Year Old Muslim Boy Stabbed To Death, Mother Critically Wounded. Officials Adhered The Attack To Israel-Palestine "war" (image : CAIR National)
Six year old boy brutally stabbed to death and mother critically injured by their landlord. The victims were identified as Palestinian Americans. Authorities in Chicago claims the crime was committed because the victims were Muslims and adhered the incident to the ongoing “war” happening between Palestine and Israel.
The Sheriff’s office from Will County identified the man to be a 71 year old Joseph Czuba. He was charged with first degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated battery and hate crime against the Muslim mother and son who were his tenants.
The six year old boy who is identified as Wadea Al-Fayoume was stabbed for 26 times and confined to death in the hospital. His mother , Hanaan Shahin was stabbed multiple times while she was trying to call 911, says report. Officials said the 32 year old mother have more than a dozen stab wounds and is in a serious condition.
According to the report, Mr. Czuba used a serrated seven inch knife for the brutal crime, says The New York Time. Though the investigators do not made any remarks on how they get to know about the motive of the culprit, it is claimed that, “detectives were able to determine that both victims in this brutal attack were targeted by the suspect due to them being Muslims and the ongoing Middle Eastern conflict involving Hamas and the Israelis”. The culprit is said to taken to the court on Monday.
The executive director of CAIR Chicago, Ahmed Rehab said “our hearts are heavy, and our prayers are with the darling boy and his mother”. CAIR Chicago is a Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim civil rights and advocacy organizations.
CAIR Officials claimed about reviewing the text messages sent by the mother of the boy to her husbands which was in Arabic. According to the texts, their landlord was angry because of what he sees on news every day and he tried to choke her when she opened the door shouting, “you Muslims must die”. When she ran to the bathroom to dial, her son was murdered. She wrote “it all happened in second”. CAIR did not made the text available for the media to review. In their X (formerly twitter), CAIR National said they were “shocked and disturbed “ about the incident and called for the “Islamophobic rhetoric and anti-Palestinian racism being spread by the politicians, media outlets and social media must stop”.

In a statement President Joe Biden said that the family came to America seeking what “what we all seek- refuge to live, learn and pray in peace”. He also added that as Americans “we must come together and reject Islamophobia and all forms of bigotry and hatred”. Later, he said “hate in every form” should be rejected.

Suburban Chicago accommodates largest Palestinian American population. It also have a little area filled with Arab restaurants and known as “little Palestine”. The incident happened on another part of the Chicago suburbs, which is 40 miles southwest of downtown Chicago.
