"I Am Now In The Early Stages Of Treatment": Kate Middleton On Cancer Diagnosis

In video statement, Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton said revealed that she is in early stages of treatment after a cancer diagnosis. She appeared in the video after weeks of speculations on her whereabouts after  her abdominal surgery in January this year.

Kate said it was “huge shock” and “incredibly tough couple of months”. She said the abdominal surgery was successful, and the cancer was not diagnosed at the time of surgery. “However tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment”, she said.

Reportedly, the chemotherapy started in late February. The Kensington Palace said it will not be sharing any further private medical information, include the type of cancer. `

The news came as another blow to the Royal family, after King Charles III last month announced as being undergoing cancer treatment. Since then, he withdrew from public duties, but was frequently seen in pictures carrying meetings with officials.

Meanwhile, after her surgery, Kate Middleton has been out of public view, giving birth to wild speculations. An edited photo released on Mother’s Day featuring Kate and her three children added fuel to the ongoing conspiracy theories.

The King and Queen was also informed about the health condition of the Princess. Charles said he is “so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did”.

Both the King and the Princess has been admitted to the same hospital during the time. When Kate underwent her abdominal surgery, Charles was admitted for a “corrective procedure” for an enlarged prostate.

Prince Harry and Meghan sent a message to the court saying, “we wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace”.
