Pakistan Deems First Ever Miss Universe Pakistan Pageant As An "Insult".

Erica Robin brought Pakistan its first ever Miss-Universe Pakistan crown and in return got slammed by the country”s government for adding up to the already heaped up problems. From politicians to religious leaders, everyone criticised Ms. Robin and the competition.

Religious leaders pronounced the event to be an “insult” to Pakistan. Islamic scholar Taqi Usmani demanded to dispel the idea that Ms. Robin “representing Pakistan”.

According to report from the Independent, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, the caretaker Prime Minister sought Pakistan’s intelligence agency to investigate about how the organisers of the event got green flag to hold a pageant without the country approving to use its name in such events.

Taking to X (formerly twitter), politician Mushtaq Ahmed asked who have done “this shameful act”. He wrote, “who are the organisers of this beauty pageant in Pakistan? Who is doing this shameful act?”.

The event was organised by Yugen Group, a Dubai based agency. They also own Miss Universe Bahrain and Miss Universe Egypt franchises, as per the report.

The 24 year old Erica Robin said she felt huge responsibility on her shoulders as her country, Pakistan is going to have a participant in the Global Miss Universe Pageant for the first time. “However, I won”t do anything that would harm the reputation of my country”, she further added.

Meanwhile, the country”s responds to the event raise questions regarding the probability of Ms. Robin”s participation in the Global Miss Universe Pageant which is going to be in held in November in El Salvador.

Pakistan is currently drowning with internal and external conflicts. The rising debt crisis, tensions in the borders, falling of political leaders, billions of damages caused by flood in 2022 striping the country bare to further climate disasters and so on, Pakistan is neck deep in troubles without a proper vision to climb the ladder back.
