Congress Fields Siddharth Kushwaha To Wrest Satna Constituency From BJP (image@MLA_SATNA)Satna Lok Sabha constituency of Madhya Pradesh is one of the key constituencies in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. When BJP fielded their four term MP Ganesh Singh, Congress is fielding Siddharth Sukhlal Kushwaha. It is to note that, Siddharth had defeated Ganesh during the 2023 assembly election over 70,000 votes.
Siddharth is the son of former MP Sukhlal Kushwaha. He is known for defeating long serving politicians. He contested in Assembly election of 2018 from Satna Assembly constituency. He won by defeating three term MLA Shankarlal Tiwari. Siddharth was made the president of the Other Backward Class wing of the grand old party. Political analysts believe that this was done as a bid to reward to Siddharth for not changing his loyalty to the party during its fall in the 2020 political crisis.
In 2022, Siddharth came under scrutiny as he was accused of molesting a woman in train. Siddharth along with another Congress MLA from Kotma, Suneel Saraf were accused of the incident. Government Railway police also confirmed about receiving complaint. Talking to news agency ANI, a senior police officer said, a woman traveling from Bhopal to Rewa filed the complaint.
Both the Siddharth and Suneel denied the allegations. Siddharth called the allegations baseless. He told ANI that the woman was sitting on their seat and they did nothing but standing at the door of the train till Katni. Suneel said that the woman was sleeping on their berth, and she moved to another seat when her child woke up and started crying. He said they came to know the allegations only when the police came.
