Netizens Question Smriti Irani, NCW Silence On Hassan Sexual Abuse

Prajwal Revanna, the grandson of former prime minister H D Deva Gowda has reportedly fled the country to Germany amid the huge row over purported obscene videos. 

However, Smrithi Irani, Union Minister of Women and Child Development has not yet responded to the issue. The National Commission for Women too has not yet taken any action against the Karnataka MP. Netizens on X slammed the stance taken by the union minister. 

Swati Chaturvedi, a journalist responding to Smriti Irani’s post, “Have you spoken to the thousands of women Revanna preyed on? Have you even condemned Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh? As a woman I feel ashamed of you WCD minister who only acts on partisan political lines. You are a disgraceful burden on the taxpayers”.

Smrithi Irani wrote on X, “Spoke to Saraswati Sarkar, our brave karyakarta from Kasba Mondal, physically beaten and battered by TMC gundas. If this is the brutality in South Kolkata, I shudder to think of the extremities in Sandeshkhali.” Union minister was reacting to the recent attack in West Bengal on BJP members on Saturday night. She alleged that the BJP workers while putting up the posters of BJP MP Debasree Chaudhari was attacked by the TMC members.

Another user responding to the Union minister’s post wrote, “Did you speak to the women assaulted by Prajwal Revanna?”

While another wrote, “A video of BJP alliance MP Prajwal Revanna raping 2700 women in Karnataka, where Silly soul Bar is located, has surfaced. Victims have lodged a complaint at the police station. As the Minister of Women and Child Welfare, have you spoken to the women victims?”.

Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM chief too took a jab at Narendra Modi for campaigning for NDA’s Hassan candidate in Mysore. He wrote on X, “narendramodi campaigned for NDA’s Hassan candidate in Mysore. This candidate has been accused of sexually exploiting & coercing women, making thousands of videos to blackmail them. The BJP was aware of this man’s background & the PM still supported him. What happened to Modi’s claims of Nari Shakti, of protecting mangal sutras, etc? He has now reportedly fled India. Modi must apologise to India’s daughters. Modi must explain why he chose political power over the dignity of India’s daughters.”
