IPL 2024: WATCH Nehal Wadhera Perfects ‘One-Handed Six’ In Mumbai Indians Training

Written by Timeline Sports Desk

Young Mumbai Indians batter Nehal Wadhera gave a good account of himself in his first appearance of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season against Rajasthan Royals on Monday. He formed a crucial partnership with Tilak Verma in his 49-run knock to take Mumbai Indians to a decent total of 179 runs.

In his 24-ball stay, Wadhera played some stunning shots but his one-handed six during the 14th over from Avesh Khan caught everyone’s attention. His one-handed shot produced an 86m maximum and Wadhera continues to practice it as one of his trademark shots in the Mumbai Indians training session.

Wadhera was captured in a Mumbai Indians video, practicing the one-handed shot. The franchise captioned the video as: “The one-handed shot you saw, the ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐—ถ๐˜โ€™๐˜€ ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜ you didnโ€™t ๐ŸคŒ๐Ÿ˜Ž”

Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya had appreciated his effort during the match against Rajasthan Royals. “The way Tilak and Nehal batted – that was fantastic. I don’t think that when we lost a couple of wickets early we thought we would even reach 180. We didn’t finish well and that’s why we were 10-15 runs short,” he said.

The top-order batter made his debut in the lucrative tournament in 2023. He featured in 14 matches of the IPL 2023, scoring 241 runs at an average of 26.78, with the highest strike rate of 145.18 and two-half centuries to his name.

Mumbai Indians are currently at the seventh spot in IPL 2024 points table with three wins in eight matches.
