Since the NEET 2024 entrance exam got over in the evening today, Twitter is abuzz with videos (a particular video exactly, shared by many users) that the question papers from the undergraduate medical entrance exam were leaked. But, according to the National Testing Agency (NTA), the national level competitive exam body, there has not been any instances of paper leak.
The video in question shows a person turns the sheets of a question booklet, and on the background slogans are being raised.
There are two types of responses coming to this alleged NEET 2024 paper leak. One is from the NTA and another from several Twitter users who have been sharing screenshots from WhatsApp chats in which NEET aspirants commenting that the questions are not from the exam held today.
“Where the instances of ‘paper leak’ being claimed are completely false and it is being done just to sensationalise the news,” an NTA official told Indian Express.
After mentioning an incident from Girls Higher Secondary Adarsh Vidya Mandir, Mantown, Sawai Madhopur, the official has also confirmed to Indian Express that “there has not been any ‘leak’ of the NEET UG question paper.”
Regarding Sawai Madhopur incident, the NTA has released a detailed statement.
During the NEET (UG) 2024 examination, the NTA said that it came to the attention of the Agency that at one examination center in Sawai Madhopur, there was an incident of incorrect distribution of question papers by the Center Superintendent.
The agency said some candidates left the examination center with question papers, despite efforts by invigilators to prevent it.
In order to uphold the principles of fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates, the NTA, as part of taking proactive measures, has now ordered re-exam, today itself.
“The examination of approximately 120 affected candidates from the Girls Higher Secondary Model School examination center is being conducted today, 5 May 2024, ensuring that their academic aspirations are not hindered by this incident,” the NTA said in the statement.
The exam was held for more than 24 lakh medical aspirants from India and abroad who wants to pursue undergraduate courses in India.
