The National Testing Agency (NTA) has held the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Undergraduate (UG) today. This examination was held for undergraduate medical aspirants across the country and abroad. In light of recent events, the NTA released a statement about re-exam in one of the centres in Sawai Madhopur.
During the NEET (UG) 2024 examination, the NTA said that it came to the attention of the Agency that at one examination center, Girls Higher Secondary Model School, Mandir, Mantown, Sawai Madhopur, there was an incident of incorrect distribution of question papers by the Center Superintendent.
The agency said some candidates left the examination center with question papers, despite efforts by invigilators to prevent it.
In order to uphold the principles of fairness and equal opportunity for all candidates, the NTA, as part of taking proactive measures, has now ordered re-exam, today itself.
“The examination of approximately 120 affected candidates from the Girls Higher Secondary Model School examination center is being conducted today, 5 May 2024, ensuring that their academic aspirations are not hindered by this incident,” the NTA said in the statement.
It assured the public that apart from this isolated incident, the NEET 2024 examination commenced smoothly and was conducted peacefully at all other examination centers across the country. “The NTA emphasizes that this incident has not compromised the integrity of the examination process at other centers,” it said.
The NTA reaffirmed its commitment to conducting examinations with transparency, integrity, and fairness. “We extend our best wishes to all NEET (UG) 2024 candidates and assure them of our continued support throughout the examination process,” the statement said.
