Content Creators Allegedly Offered Rs 20,000 Per Reel To Downplay Jantar Mantar Student Protest

New Delhi: Instagram creator Rupesh Yadav has shared screenshots of an e-mail request by PR agencies, requesting him to do PR work for the ruling government at the centre, offering significant compensation. The PR agencies asked the creators to make content to downplay the ongoing student protest led by the CJP at Jantar Mantar against the NEET paper leak and other systemic failures of the country’s education system.

Several other social media content creators have gone viral with claims that they received emails from PR agencies offering money to run pro-government content and criticising ongoing student protests.

As per the claims, creators have allegedly been offered from Rs 20000 to Rs 40000 per reel to help the government to quell the protest by shaping public opinion against the protesters. The instances have ignited debate about the paid political narratives and about the source of the money that these PR communication agencies are offering to the content creators.

The creator claimed the paid assignment asked him to act like a student, downplay ongoing protests, praise current government achievements, and compare them negatively with past administrations using provided archival clips.
