Chennai Super Kings’ Yellow Army who came in for a treat from their former captain MS Dhoni were silenced early in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 contest against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on Sunday.
Dhoni was cleaned up by PBKS fast bowler Harshal Patel in the first delivery he faced. The CSK veteran who stepped into bat at No.9 for the first time in IPL was deceived by a slower ball off-cutter which went onto hit the stumps.
As soon as he was dismissed, the camera panned towards the Yellow Army who were left in disbelief. “Deceived 🤯 Reactions says it all as MS Dhoni departs to a brilliant slower one from Harshal Patel 👏,” the official IPL account on X said about the dismissal.

On the other hand, PBKS co-owner Preity Zinta had a big blushing smile on her face following the dismissal as Dhoni walked back nodding at all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
It was the first time in the ongoing season that he was dismissed for a golden duck. Dhoni has featured in 11 matches of the ongoing season, scoring 110 runs at an average of 55, with the highest score of an unbeaten 37.
