2025 Defender Octa Price Announcement In March; 4.4-litre V8 Engine Upgrades

The Defender Octa will make its Indian debut on March 26, 2025, according to Land Rover. Thanks to a number of mechanical improvements, the Octa, which was unveiled in July 2024, is billed as the Defender’s most potent and off-road competent model. Although the Defender Octa’s starting price of Rs 2.65 crore was announced by the automaker last year, no units were delivered to buyers. Prices will probably be a little higher because the Defender Octa’s official India launch is scheduled for later this month. Defender Octa’s 6D Dynamics suspension system, which hydraulically connects the dampers to eliminate the need for a physical anti-roll bar, is one of its most noteworthy innovations.

According to Land Rover, the technology allows for more wheel movement on rougher terrain and “virtually eliminates” pitch and body roll when driving on-road. In addition, the Defender Octa boasts the fastest steering rack of any Defender to date, longer and more durable wishbones, more comprehensive underbody protection, a 28mm increase in ground clearance, a 100mm improvement in wading depth, and a custom drive setting with off-road launch mode.

The Defender Octa’s maximum approach, departure, and breakover angles are all increased by 2.5, 2 degrees, and 1.1 degrees, respectively, thanks to the redesigned front and rear bumpers. Additionally, the SUV’s maximum articulation has been increased from the Defender 110’s usual 430mm to 569mm.

The Octa, which is only available in the 110 body style, stands out from the standard Defender thanks to its flared wheel arches, a more open front grille, fewer perforated areas in the front skid plate, and an increased ground clearance of 319mm. Additionally, it has a gloss black roof and tailgate, custom 22-inch alloy wheels with all-season tires, and an Octa emblem on the C-pillar.

Defender Octa buyers can choose from exclusive colours: Carpathian Grey, Charente Grey, Faroe Green, and Petra Copper are the unique colors available to Defender Octa purchasers. Additionally, these are available with matte finishes that come with a protective film. The Defender Octa’s interior features a 11.4-inch infotainment system, a fridge built into the center console, Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather upholstery, and redesigned performance seats with a 3D-knit texture, an integrated headrest, and more supportive bolstering. Body and Soul Seat audio technology, which employs haptic motors that vibrate in time with any music playing in the vehicle, is another feature that Land Rover has added to the Defender Octa.

The 4.4-liter mild-hybrid V8 engine that powers the Defender Octa is the same as the Range Rover’s, but it produces 635 horsepower and 750 Nm more, which can be increased to 800 Nm when the off-road launch mode is used. The Defender Octa can reach a high speed of 250 kph and reach 100 kph from rest in a quick 3.8 seconds when paired with an 8-speed automated transmission that powers all four wheels.
