Audi RS Q8 is now the fastest production SUV around the Nurburgring and is Audi’s most potent road-going ICE vehicle to date. The ex-showroom price of the Audi RS Q8 Performance, before optional extras, was Rs 2.49 crore when it was first introduced in India today.
Although the RS Q8 Performance is a more aggressive variant of the RS Q8, the two SUVs have the same design. However, the RS Q8 Performance distinguishes itself from the ordinary Audi Q8 with a black honeycomb grille, bigger air intakes on the front bumper, and a broader, more hunkered-down stance.
In order to communicate the sporting qualities of the RS Q8 Performance, the headlamps make use of Audi’s LED Matrix technology, and numerous components on the fascia are composed of carbon fiber.

Large carbon-fibre wing mirrors and 23-inch alloy wheels with six color options are only two of its available features. Moving on to the back, the RS Q8 Performance’s customizable OLED taillights, which have C-shaped air vents directly below, are one of its most noticeable improvements. Above the rear windshield is an RS roof edge spoiler, and below that is a large new bumper with a honeycomb design and sizable exhaust tips on either side.
With the exception of a redesigned rounded steering wheel and a gear-change indication in the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster to assist the driver in making the best shifts when in manual mode, not much has changed inside the RS Q8 Performance’s cabin. Red stitching and optional Valcona leather upholstery are added to the steering wheel, door liners, and seats, while other interior elements are finished in Alcantara. A 17-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, 4-zone climate control, individually adjustable and reclinable back seats, a panoramic sunroof, and more delights are included in the amenities list.
A 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine powers the Audi RS Q8 Performance, producing an incredible 640 horsepower and 850 Nm—40 horsepower and 50 Nm more than the normal RS Q8. It becomes evident how the RS Q8 Performance completes the 0-100 kph run in 3.6 seconds when a 48V mild hybrid system is added. The maximum speed is limited to 305 kph.
In order to control body roll, Audi has implemented clever technology such as adaptive air suspension, active roll stabilization, all-wheel steering, and a new Quattro sport differential.
The Audi RS Q8 Performance competes with the Lamborghini Urus SE and Porsche Cayenne GTS in India. It’s interesting to note that all three SUVs share a platform and are propelled by 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engines; but, the Urus SE’s 789-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain gives it a significant power boost over the others.
