Kia Syros To Get Panoramic Sunroof, Launch Next Year With Both Combustion Engine

It was recently revealed that Kia’s next small SUV would be called “Syros” rather than “Clavis,” as was previously thought. Kia verified the development by posting a brief teaser on its YouTube channel and other media accounts. Another teaser for the Syros has been produced by the South Korean automaker. As previously stated, Syros will be positioned beneath Seltos and above Sonet. Like all Kia models, it will have a number of high-end amenities. Thus, with the Syros positioned between the sub-4-meter and mid-size SUV vehicles, Kia will launch a whole new SUV/crossover market.

Despite the brief teaser video’s last partial view of the car, a deeper look reveals a crucial aspect of the Syros. The teaser video shows off the panoramic sunroof that the Kia Syros will have. The new vertically stacked tri-LED projection headlights with L-shaped LED DRL on either side are the other main feature seen in the most recent teaser, and they should give the Syros a whole new look.

The forthcoming Kia SUV is probably going to be similar to the Kia EV9, which was introduced as a CBU in the nation only last month. It is anticipated that the Syros would have a fully redesigned Tiger Nose grille, giving it a new appearance. The Kia Syros has a strong, boxy design language, as was hinted at earlier.

Tall pillars, a flat roofline, and squarish, flared-up wheel arches all highlight the Kia Syros’s strong stance despite its small size. Its aggressive image is further enhanced by a clamshell bonnet, creases, and sharp cuts. The unique L-shaped LED taillights built into the D-pillars, a flat tailgate, and rear bumper reflectors define the rear appearance. Its practical appeal is enhanced by functional roof rails. Kia will add dual-tone machine-cut alloy wheels to the Syros to round off the athletic appearance.

Even while the Kia Syros’s exact powertrain specifications are still unknown, it is quite likely that the SUV and the Sonet will have similar engine and gearbox options. A 1.5-litre diesel engine, a 1.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, and a 1.2-litre normally aspirated gasoline engine are possible engine options. A 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox are among the available transmission options.
