Introducing its second offering in the SUV segment, Citroen’s Basalt has hit the markets at an introductory starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh and ranging till Rs 13.62 lakh. The bookings of the Basalt are currently open and the deliveries will start from the first week of September, 2024 through the 85 La Maison Citroën showrooms in the country. Customers can book the Basalt at Rs 11,001 at the Citroen dealership or at the company’s official website.

The Basalt comes in 3 variants namely You, Plus and Max with 4 manual and 2 automatic gear variations. The manual variants, 1.2 NA YOU starts at the initial price of Rs 7.99 lakh while the 1.2 TURBO MAX  ranges up to Rs 12.28 lakh. The automatic variants, 1.2 TURBO AT PLUS starts at Rs 12.79 lakh up to the maximum range of Rs 13.62 lakh for the 1.2 TURBO AT MAX.

Moreover, the Basalt comes equipped with two engine choices including the 1.2 L Gen 3 PURETECH 110 turbo and PURETECH 82 naturally aspirated engines which are provided with a 6-speed torque converter automatic along with 5 and 6-speed manual transmission. The variant is equipped with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine while the Plus employs three options: 1.2-litre NA, 1.2-litre turbo-MT and 1.2-litre turbo-AT. The Max has the top specifications with only a turbo-petrol engine.

Buyers shall also be provided with several body color options including 5 monotone and 2 dual-tone. The Coupe SUV also possesses safety features such as 6 airbags, ESC, ISOFIX and all Seats 3-point seat belt.
