Honda Elevate, Amaze, CNG Option — To Tackle Fuel Efficiency

Are you concerned about mid-size SUVs like the Honda Elevate getting poor economy and skyrocketing gasoline prices? The good news is that Honda is now providing CNG kits for its well-known vehicles, like as the Elevate, City, and Amaze. But there’s a little catch. These CNG kits are retrofitted at the dealership level rather than being factory-fitted. Furthermore, just a few Honda dealerships nationwide offer them for sale. The Elevate is a good choice for SUV buyers on a tight budget because it can be fitted with a CNG kit for an additional ₹75,000, which would make it a more fuel-efficient option.

With the Elevate and Amaze, Honda has formally joined the CNG market. In contrast to its rivals, the Honda Amaze and Honda Elevate are not formally produced by the automaker and instead receive retrofitted CNG kits. There is a procedure to reserve a Honda Elevate CNG or the Amaze CNG. Honda claims that the CNG kits are government-approved and are installed at the dealer level. A CNG version of the Elevate or Amaze cannot be reserved online; instead, a dealer must be visited.

However, only a manual transmission is offered for the Honda Elevate CNG and Amaze CNG. The Elevate’s 1.5-liter petrol engine and the Amaze’s 1.2-liter petrol engine are still the same. Honda has not disclosed any performance metrics, but anticipate a little decrease in horsepower and torque.
With the exception of a button to switch between gasoline and CNG and the CNG tank, which will be mounted in the boot, sacrificing room for cleaner and more efficient fuel, the appearance and interior are both unaltered.

Honda has also not disclosed its prices. While the Amaze competes with the CNG-capable Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, and Hyundai Aura, the Honda Elevate also faces competition from the Hyundai Creta and Mahindra Scorpio. In light of growing gasoline prices, Honda’s foray into the CNG market with the Elevate and Amaze provides a fuel-efficient substitute. These kits are manual-only and dealer-fitted, but they provide a cleaner alternative that appeals to consumers on a tight budget who want sustainability without making significant sacrifices.
