New Honda Amaze Launched At Rs 8.00 Lakh, Deliveries Will Commence Next Month

The new Honda Amaze in the compact sedan segment has been launched in India. The base pricing starts at Rs. 8.00 lakh, while the top-spec ZX trim costs Rs. 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Now in its third generation, the Amaze follows closely after the fourth-generation Maruti Dzire, which was just released.

In addition to updated interiors with a ton of more capabilities, the new Amaze has a completely new design that embraces the family aesthetic found on the Elevate and City. It is mechanically identical to its predecessor, though. Delivery of the new Amaze will formally start next month, with test drives starting today. Honda’s Amaze comes with a standard 3-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.

Exterior design

The new Amaze appears to be a smaller, more streamlined version of the Elevate SUV from the front aspect. The redesigned headlights, which are characterised by a sleek chrome trim and brow-like LED daytime running lamps, really appear exactly like the Elevate. The Amaze also has a hexagonal grille, but it’s sharper and narrower than the SUV’s. However, it seems much more like the City thanks to the fog light surrounds and the central air dam on the beautifully shaped bumper.

The new Amaze seems much more angular than the old model. Beginning at the border of the headlights and continuing the whole length of the car, there is a distinct character line. A new dual-tone design on the 15-inch alloy wheel gives it a distinct appearance, and the wing mirrors have been moved from the pillar to the door. Additionally, it has perfect proportions, which is difficult to do in the sub-four-meter division.

With the taillamps on either side of the number plate housing having a similar design, the new Amaze’s rear again gives it the appearance of a junior City. Reflectors are placed at either edge of the rear bumper to give it a clean appearance. Compared to the previous sedan, the new Amaze appears more mature by embracing this family-oriented style. Six exterior paint colours are available for the new Amaze: Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Obsidian Blue Pearl, and Radiant Red Metallic.

The feature rich new Amaze

The Elevate is obviously the inspiration for the dashboard design on the inside. Although it has a smaller 8-inch free-standing touchscreen, the multi-function steering wheel, HVAC controls, and semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch MID are all taken from the Elevate. Additionally, the centre console configuration is the same as the Elevate, with two cup holders, USB ports, and a wireless charging rack. The dashboard panel, which also contains the AC vents, has a textured surface, which makes it distinctive. The dashboard has a two-tone finish, with silver accents and a black and beige colour scheme.

In terms of features, the new Amaze has three-point seat belts for every passenger, a back seat arm rest, rear air conditioning vents, auto temperature control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charger, push-button start/stop, and LED projector headlights and fog lamps. The Honda Sensing ADAS suite, traction control, lane watch camera, hill start aid, ESC, and six airbags as standard are among the safety features. Although, it is devoid of a sunroof. Better cabin room is the result of the new Amaze’s larger and higher design compared to its predecessor. It has 416 litres of boot space. Additionally, Honda asserts that they have made tremendous progress.

Engine specifications

The 1.2-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine under the hood of the new Amaze is mated to either a CVT automatic gearbox with paddle shifters with the option of a 5-speed manual. The engine is somewhat more powerful than the Dzire, producing 90 horsepower and 110 Nm of torque, although the torque is significantly less. Honda states that the manual version achieves 18.65 kpl of fuel efficiency, while the CVT automatic version achieves 19.46 kpl.
