Is Tata Curvv Going To Up The Ante?

Updates on the Tata Curvv are coming up thick and fast before its official launch on August 7. Tata Motors will first launch the electric version of the coupe SUV and the internal combustion engine trim later in the year. The Indian automobile manufacturer will be upping the ante with the Curvv as it will introduce tonnes of safety and convenience. Here is all we know about the Tata Curvv.

Tata Curvv: Exteriors

With a unique coupe design, the Curvv gets all LED lighting like connected LED DLRs with welcome and goodbye functions. Like in the Punch EV, headlamps will also indicate when the vehicle is charging. The split headlight design houses LED projector lights, sequential LED indicators and a front charging lid. The coupe SUV has 18-inch alloy wheels, all four disc brakes, flush door handles and a frunk for the EV version.

Tata Curvv: Interiors

Tata Motors has given the Curvv a premium feel with a 12.3-inch infotainment system from Harman, the biggest in the midsize SUV segment, along with a nine-speaker sound system. The new Tata Motors SUV gets front ventilated seats with a 6-way power adjustable driver seat and 6-way manually adjustable front passenger seat. The automobile manufacturer is offering a two-step rear step recline, a voice-activated panoramic sunroof, an all-digital instrument cluster with a navigation map display and an electric parking brake with auto hold and paddle shifters with regenerative braking modes.

Tata Curvv: Technology and Safety

The Curvv is a tech-laden SUV as it is the first in the segment to offer power assisted tailgate with gesture controls. Like the Punch EV, the all-electric EV has vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) charging and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities.

Tata Motors is leaving no stone unturned when it comes to safety features. The Curvv will be equipped with Level 2 ADAS with over 12 features, advanced ESP with driver drowsiness alert, six airbags and advanced vehicle alert system.

Tata Curvv is loaded with features like Level 2 ADAS functions which is equipped with Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Following Assist, Forward and Rear Collision Warning. For those who are fond of long drives Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Blind Spot View Monitor. To be albe to drive conveniently at night there is High Beam Assist. There are few features like parking assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, 360-degree camera to look forward to when Curvv is launched.

Tata Curvv: Specifications

Tata Motors has confirmed that the Curvv ICE will be available in three engine options — the new 1.2-litre Turbo GDI showcased at the Auto Expo 2022 and the 1.2-litre turbo and 1.5-litre diesel available in the Nexon. The new GDI engine has an output of 123 bhp and 225 Nm of torque, while the 1.2-litre turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel powertrains churn out 118 bhp and 113 bhp. All three engines will be offered with manual and automatic transmission.

The specifications of the Curvv EV haven’t been revealed yet, but the company has stated that the driving range on a single charge will be around 500 km.
