Kia is set to announce the prices for the new GTX variants of its Seltos and Sonet models in the coming days. This move continues Kia’s strategy of regularly updating its lineup, which has helped the South Korean automaker establish a strong presence in India’s automotive market. Recently, Kia enhanced the HTK+ trim of the Seltos with additional features, and now, the focus shifts to the new GTX trims.
New GTX Trim Details
The new GTX trim for both the Seltos and Sonet will be positioned between the existing HTX+ and GTX+ trims. Although Kia has not officially announced the prices, reports suggest that the Sonet GTX will start at Rs 13.71 lakh and the Seltos GTX at Rs 19 lakh (both ex-showroom). This new trim level includes several tech and feature upgrades over the HTX+ trims.
Kia Sonet GTX
Visually, the Sonet GTX closely resembles the top-spec GTX+ trim, with 16-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels, a tiger nose grille with premium dark metallic surrounds, and front and rear skid plates with dark metallic accents. The model is available in seven mono-tone exterior colors, excluding the spoiler.
Inside, the Sonet GTX features all-black interiors with sporty white inserts, alloy pedals, gloss black finishes on the AC vents, and black leatherette seats. Additional features include a 360-degree camera, a Blind Spot Viewing Monitor, and a 4-way powered driver’s seat.
The Sonet GTX offers two engine options: a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 118 bhp and 172 Nm of peak torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel motor delivering 114 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic torque converter.
Kia Seltos GTX
The Seltos GTX also boasts significant updates, including 18-inch crystal-cut gloss black alloy wheels, body-colored front and rear bumpers, a glossy black roof, white brake calipers, and dual-sports exhaust for the 1.5L turbo petrol version.
The Seltos GTX enhances driver comfort and safety with features like high beam assist, a 360-degree camera, a Blind Spot Viewing Monitor, an electric parking brake with auto hold, rain-sensing wipers, driver attention warning, and Level 2 ADAS features, including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, and forward collision avoidance.
Engine options for the Seltos GTX include a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 158 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque, and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel unit generating 114 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The petrol engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while the diesel comes with a six-speed automatic torque converter.
Kia’s continuous updates and the introduction of the new GTX trims for the Seltos and Sonet are expected to strengthen its position in the competitive Indian automotive market.
