New Audi A6 Sedan Declared The Most Aerodynamic ICE Car With Styling Overhaul
Audi has unveiled the A6 car of the sixth generation. After revealing the A6 in estate form last month, the German automaker has now revealed the sedan variant. The new A6 sedan is powered by Volkswagen’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), just like its estate predecessor. Notably, the Premium Platform Electric skateboard is used by the all-electric A6 e-tron, while having the same name.
The new-generation A6 sedan is 60mm longer overall and has a 3mm longer wheelbase than the previous model. Additionally, Audi boasts that the new A6 sedan has a drag coefficient of 0.23, making it the most aerodynamically efficient ICE-powered vehicle the company has ever produced. With a drag coefficient of 0.21, the A6 e-tron is still unbeaten, while the A6 Avant is in close pursuit with a 0.25.

With the exception of the longer rear end, the sedan version naturally shares most of the A6 Avant estate’s design characteristics. The dynamic air curtains bookending the bumper, larger honeycomb grille, bonnet ridges, and sleeker, more angular LED headlights give the 2018 A6 sedan a more aggressive appearance up front than its predecessor. The sedan’s powerful, taut fenders extend into the side profile, which displays 20-inch alloy wheels (18-inch standard, with a 23-inch option) and large rearview mirrors positioned on the doors.
An 11.9-inch completely digital instrument cluster sits directly in front of the driver, and the optional 10.9-inch passenger display extends the central unit. A 685W 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system (an 810W 20-speaker arrangement is optional), a redesigned 4-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting with 84 LEDs, and other features are included in the equipment list. A heads-up display, a 4-zone climate control system, soft-close doors, and a panoramic glass roof that changes from opaque to transparent at the push of a button are just a few of the possible extras.

Audi claims to have increased the sound insulation by 30% and utilized better materials for the inside. With the 40:20:40 folding rear seats, the boot space can be further increased to 492 liters, which is 11 liters more than the new A6 Avant.
The new Audi A6 car comes standard with a 5-link suspension system, mainly composed of aluminum, at both the front and back. Additionally, buyers can choose an adaptable air suspension system that can raise the A6 by up to 20mm and a sports suspension kit that reduces ground clearance by 20mm. For the first time, voice commands sent through the infotainment system may be used to raise or lower the vehicle thanks to the A6’s air suspension.International orders for Audi’s new A6 car have started to be accepted, and deliveries are expected to start in the summer of 2025. Given that the outgoing model has been available for purchase in India since 2019 and is up against fierce competition from more modern rivals like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series, an Indian debut is probably in the cards.
