Maruti Suzuki Dzire Hybrid Launched In Philippines; Will India Get It?
The Suzuki Dzire, which debuted in the Philippines, comes in two models: GL and GLX. It costs PHP 920,000, or roughly Rs 13.9 lakh. It is well known that Maruti Suzuki is developing a new generation of hybrid technology for its current model lineup. Modern hybrid technology will not only increase fuel efficiency but also extend the automobiles’ lifespan in the face of future stricter emission regulations. For the compact car market, the business is developing a mild hybrid technology.
In the upcoming years, Maruti is reportedly planning to introduce hybrid versions of the Baleno, Swift, Fronx, and WagonR. There has been a tangible advancement in this area. The fourth-generation Dzire, which debuted in India in November of last year, has been introduced by Suzuki in the Philippines.

The Philippines-specific The Dzire’s 1.2-liter, three-cylinder Z-series petrol engine is identical to that of its Indian equivalent, although it differs in two important ways. First off, this engine is coupled with a mild hybrid system that runs on 12V in the Philippines. Second, a CVT automatic handles the transmission tasks.
A 2.19 kW (2.93 bhp) electric motor is powered by a tiny 0.072 kWh battery in this low-powered 12V mild hybrid system. This motor facilitates energy recovery, improves fuel efficiency, and provides torque assistance. Consequently, the auto start/stop feature improves drivability and fuel efficiency without affecting engine performance.

Speaking of output, the 1.2-liter naturally aspirated mill produces a maximum torque of 111.7 Nm and 81 horsepower. However, Suzuki has yet to provide the Dzire’s fuel economy numbers for the Philippines. For reference, the India-spec Dzire fuel efficiency figures of 24.79 kmpl with Petrol manual, 33.73 km/kg with CNG manual and 25.71 kmpl with Petrol AMT gearbox options.
Further, based on appearances, the Dzire that was introduced in the Philippines might have been produced in India. It looks exactly like the Dzire that is sold in India, both inside and out. The massive blacked-out grille outside and the cabin’s dual-tone upholstery, which has bluish black and nutmeg brown, are highlights.
A 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, cruise control, remote boot opening, automated climate control, follow-me home lamps, LED headlights, and a reverse parking camera are just a few of the nearly comparable features. Hill Hold Control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and six airbags are among the safety features.
