Royal Enfield has officially teased its upcoming 450cc roadster, named ‘Guerilla’, confirming its global debut on July 17, 2024, in Barcelona, Spain. This announcement was made through multiple social media posts on Royal Enfield’s handles, marking a significant addition to their lineup. The Guerilla 450 will compete with roadster models like the Triumph Speed 400, Hero Mavrick 440, and Harley Davidson X440.
Spy shots of the Guerilla 450 have been circulating for almost two years. According to previous reports, this 450cc roadster shares the same platform as the new-gen Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The teaser images reveal numerous visual details, showcasing the bike’s design and features.
Royal Enfield Guerilla 450: Expected Design & Features
The Guerilla retains several signature Royal Enfield styling cues, including a round headlamp, an off-set circular instrument console, and round rearview mirrors. However, it also introduces new components such as a chiselled, muscular fuel tank, a floating tail section, a single-piece seat, split grab rails, an underbelly bash plate, and a stubby exhaust muffler similar to the one found on the Himalayan 450.
Royal Enfield Guerilla 450: Expected Hardware
From the teaser images, it appears the bike rides on both 17-inch front and rear alloy wheels, similar to the Hunter 350, adding a hint of compactness and agility. The Guerilla 450 features telescopic forks at the front and a preload adjustable rear monoshock for improved handling and comfort. Braking duties are managed by disc brakes at both the front and rear, ensuring reliable stopping power.
Royal Enfield Guerilla 450: Expected Powertrain Specs
Like the Himalayan 450, the Guerilla 450 is powered by the same 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled Sherpa series engine. In the adventure tourer, this motor produces 39 bhp at 8,000rpm and peak torque of 40 Nm at 5,500 rpm. However, the roadster might receive a different tuning with slightly altered outputs to suit its road-oriented character. The transmission will be handled by a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch, providing smooth and efficient power delivery.
Royal Enfield Guerilla 450: Expected Pricing
Regarding pricing, the Guerilla 450 is expected to undercut its adventure sibling by a noticeable margin. It is likely to be priced around Rs 2.30 – 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a competitive option in the 450cc roadster segment.
With its blend of classic Royal Enfield styling and modern features, the Guerilla 450 is set to make a significant impact in the market. Its launch is eagerly anticipated by enthusiasts and could further cement Royal Enfield’s reputation for producing versatile and appealing motorcycles.
