Ola Gig Electric Scooter Launched At Rs 39,999, Deliveries To Begin In April 2025

With two different models, Ola has introduced its first B2B-focused electric scooter in India. Prices for the Gig and Gig+ are Rs 39,999 and Rs 49,999, respectively. Because it was built to be a commercial two-wheeler, the new Ola Gig has a huge single seat for the rider and a large carrier at the rear. There is a telescopic front fork and drum brakes on both ends of the scooter. With its little 250-watt engine and peak speed of 25 kph, the Ola Gig basic model is usable without registration. This device will compete with the Yulu versions that we see zipping around in big metro cities.

With a 1.5kW motor and a peak speed of 45 kph, the Ola Gig+ is significantly more powerful and will need to be registered for road use. One detachable 1.5kWh battery pack is included with both scooters; if you purchase the Gig+, you may increase the number of packs to two. Depending on whether you purchase the Gig with one battery or two, the business claims a range of 112 km for the Gig and either 81 km or 157 km for the Gig+.

The business says the scooter would charge quickly, but it hasn’t provided any exact numbers. The scooter will be activated by an app. Ola has not yet disclosed any specs, just digital render pictures. Wheel sizes, load-carrying capacity, kerb weight, and seat height are yet unknown facts. Starting pricing for the Gig and Gig+ are Rs 39,999 and Rs 49,999, respectively, according to Ola’s announcement. Delivery is expected to start in April 2025.

With their practical form and affordable price, Ola’s new Gig and Gig+ scooters represent a major addition to the B2B electric two-wheeler sector. These scooters are reasonably priced at Rs 39,999 and Rs 49,999, respectively, and come with adjustable battery options, different motor power, and peak speeds, making them suitable for a range of commercial applications. The Gig+’s increased power and range, together with the Gig’s unregistered operation, offer useful distribution and logistical options. Although many features are yet unknown, their app-based accessibility and affordable price make them formidable competitors to established models like Yulu, offering sustainable urban mobility options.
