BMW Motorrad has started accepting bookings for the CE 02 electric scooter a day after teasing it. The CE 02 will be the first electric two-wheeler to have a partnership between TVS-BMW. The electric scooter is being locally manufactured at TVS’ Hosur plant and it will be exported as well.
Interested buyers can book the CE 02 at their nearest BMW Motorrad showroom. Although BMW calls it a scooter, it is essentially a crossover between scooter and motorcycle, similar to a Luna or a moped. The BMW CE 02 showcases simplicity and minimalism in the design elements. The front features a compact flyscreen above the square-shaped headlamp, complemented by golden-coloured front forks.

The flat, single-piece seat is colour-matched with the side panels, while the saree guard and rear tyre hugger with a number plate mount are neatly integrated into the rear wheel hub and the design is well thought out. The CE 02 features an upside-down fork suspension at the front and an offset gas-charged monoshock at the rear with 14-inch black alloy wheels, disc brakes at both ends providing stopping power.
There is 3.5-inch TFT instrument panel with connectivity options, USB-C charging, and keyless ignition. It is powered by an air-cooled synchronous motor, drawing energy from two removable 2 kWh batteries, offering a range of up to 90 km on a single charge, producing 15 bhp and reaches a top speed of 95 kmph.
Three riding modes are available: Flow, Surf, and Splash, along with a reverse mode. The battery can be charged using a standard 0.9 kW charger (5 hours 12 minutes) or a fast 1.5 kW charger (3 hours 30 minutes). Pricing is expected to be around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom), considering it being locally manufactured in India. BMW CE 02 is likely to be the most expensive two-wheeler to be manufactured in India, exceeding the TVS X electric scooter with a price tag of Rs 2.50 lakh.
