After revealing the R 1300 GS Adventure globally last year, BMW is now planning to introduce the bike in India. Despite sharing a chassis with the R 1300 GS, the GSA has several quite distinctive features and stylistic characteristics. BMW Motorrad undercut its competitors by launching the R 1300 GS in India last year at a reasonable price of Rs 20.95 lakh, which has since increased to Rs 21.2 lakh.
We anticipate that the R 1300 GSA would be priced similarly to the R 1250 GSA, which is the current model and costs Rs 22.5 lakh.

In true BMW tradition, the R 1300 GSA’s “Adventure” label indicates that it has a bigger 30-litre gasoline tank—11 litres more than the standard GS. The R 1300 GSA weighs 269 kg, which is 32 kg more than the basic bike due to the bigger tank and other modifications. Additionally, it weighs one kilogram more than the R 1250 GSA it replaces.
The output of the bigger GSA is the same as that of the GS, despite its increased weight. A liquid-cooled boxer engine powers the R 1300 GS Adventure, producing 145 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. It is now the most powerful BMW boxer engine that is ready for production.
A 6-speed gearbox is mated to the engine. BMW’s new Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) is an optional feature for the R 1300 GS Adventure that effectively does away with the need to use the clutch to shift gears manually. The motorbike has a gear lever in case the rider wants to assume manual control, even though it does not have a clutch lever.
