BMW, a German motorcycle manufacturer has introduced the new R 12 S globally. Based on the huge air-cooled boxer-twin engine, the BMW R 12 S is a retro-styled cafe-racer that is a must-have motorbike from the German manufacturer.
A deeper look at the features of the new BMW R 12 S is provided here:
BMW has done a fantastic job with the design. The motorbike is painted in contrasting colours and has a half-fairing similar to the vintage cafe-racers.
Both the bar-end mirrors and the use of chrome have contributed to the vintage aesthetic. Like the previous R 1200 GS versions, the motorbike has a single seat and a left-side exhaust.

The motorcycle's overall design is enhanced by the blacked-out engine parts. The motorbike has wire-spoked 17-inch wheels with big tyres, dual 310mm front disc rotors, a 265mm rear disc, fully adjustable USD forks, a mono-shock at the back, LED lighting, and more.
With its well-known huge displacement boxer twin, the new BMW R 12 S delivers subtly powerful performance. The air-cooled twin-cylinder 1,170cc engine produces 115Nm of torque and 109bhp. As is customary with the GS line from BMW, the engine is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox that uses a shaft-drive arrangement to drive the back wheel.

With the new R 12 S, BMW has also provided several technological aids to help keep the power down, including heated grips, cruise control, engine brake control, hill hold, dual-channel ABS, traction control, and riding modes. It is currently improbable that the new BMW R 12 S would be introduced in India. The motorbike costs $21,590 (about Rs 18.26 lakh) in the US.
Due to its unusual combination of historical café-racer styling and modern engineering, the BMW R 12 S stands out among the brand's offerings. There are 109 horsepower and 115 Nm of torque generated by the bike's 1,170cc air-cooled boxer-twin engine.
It also has USD forks, wire-spoked wheels, and advanced electronics including traction and cruise control.
Because of its classic design, chrome embellishments, and bar-end mirrors, it appeals to enthusiasts. Even though it costs $21,590 in the US, no one knows when it will launch in India.
