Finally, Brixton Motorcycles has launched up to four models in India. The British company with Chinese ownership has long had its sights set on the Indian market. Constructed in KAW’s facilities in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, these bikes will be part of the MotoHaus group, which is led by KAW Veloce Motors and the VLF brand.
Crossfire 500X, Crossfire 500 XC, Cromwell 1200, and Cromwell 1200X were the four bikes for which the business had already submitted trademark applications earlier this year. Delivery is scheduled to start in December 2024, and reservations for the same were opened earlier this month for a nominal price of Rs 2,999. Approximately 10,000 units will be delivered by MotoHaus in the first year.

Price, specs & features
With prices of Rs 4.75 lakh and Rs 5.20 lakh (ex-showroom), the Crossfire X and Crossfire XC are the first models in the Brixton series. One is a roadster, while the other is a scrambler. The 500 X is, predictably, more suited for an urban setting, while the 500 XC is a more robust and off-road-oriented vehicle.
A liquid-cooled, parallel-twin, 486cc engine that produces 47.6 horsepower at 8500 rpm and 43 Nm of peak torque at 6,750 rpm powers both motorcycles. The engine is coupled with a gearbox that has six speeds. A fully adjustable suspension system from KYB, which includes a rear monoshock and upside-down front forks, supports the chassis. Both bikes’ 240mm and 320mm front brakes perform braking tasks.
Nevertheless, the Crossfire series is distinguished by a few hardware variations. While the 500 XC rides on dual-purpose tires mounted on 19/17-inch wire-spoke wheels, the 500 X is powered by 17-inch wire-spoke front and rear wheels covered in tubeless rubber. The 500 X’s saddle height of 795 mm is more accessible than the 500 XC’s 839 mm seat height.
The Triumph Bonneville line serves as the inspiration for the more vintage Brixton Cromwell design. Brixton is selling two Cromwell models, the Cromwell 1200 and Cromwell 1200 X, for Rs 7.84 lakh and Rs 9.10 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively, similar to the Crossfire. While the latter is an urban scrambler, the former is a roadster.

A 1,222cc twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 82 horsepower at 6550 rpm and a maximum torque of 108 Nm at 3100 rpm powers both bikes. There is a 6-speed manual gearbox that goes with this engine. Cruise control, two riding modes, and LED headlights and taillights are among its features. Twin 310mm front discs and one 260mm rear disc, assisted by dual-channel ABS, perform the braking tasks.
The seat height of the Cromwell 1200 is 800 mm, whereas the Cromwell 1200 X is 860 mm. The 17-inch spoke wheels and 18-inch front wheels allow both bikes to glide. The only other obvious distinction between the two versions is that the Cromwell 1200 has road-spec tires, while the Cromwell has larger semi-knobby tires.
