
R 1300 RT BMW’s New Flagship Road Biased Tourer And The Fourth Bike To Use Same Engine
The R 1300 RT is a new vehicle from BMW that uses its 1300cc boxer engine. Among many other features, it has a 10.25-inch TFT display and an integrated music system, making it ideal for long-distance travel.
The BMW R 1300 RT, which was released alongside the R 1300 RS, is a member of the same family as the R 1300 R and R 1300 GS. For better wind and weather protection, it has a notably larger fairing. The R 1300 GS, a twin-cylinder, horizontally opposed engine that is air- and liquid-cooled and generates 145 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm, is the engine that the RT shares. A 6-speed gearbox is mated to this engine.

This engine is housed in the same mainframe as the R 1300 GS, however it uses the R 1300 R and R 1300 RS’s rear subframe. An EVO Paralever rear suspension and an EVO Telelever front suspension hold up the frame. This configuration improves steering accuracy and stability, especially while braking or traversing rough terrain.
A rear disc with a two-piston floating caliper and twin front discs with radially mounted four-piston calipers perform braking responsibilities. Additionally, the R 1300 RT has the same 17-inch cast aluminum alloys at both ends as the R and RS, which results in a 1.4 kg reduction in unsprung weight.
According to the brand, they have given special consideration to accessibility and have included a reasonably reachable 780mm. Twin 27-liter touring cases are standard on the R 1300 RT. Additionally, BMW provides electric Vario cases that are compatible with the central locking system and have a changeable capacity ranging from 27 to 33 liters. Furthermore, two top cases with capacities of 39 and 54 liters, respectively, are available. The pillion’s backrest is heated in both variants. Additionally, the spacious 54-liter luggage area is electric.
There are numerous electronic rider aids available on the BMW R 1300 RT, including as active cruise control, engine braking control, traction control, forward and rear collision warning, active braking, and lane sway warning. Eco, Rain, and Road are the three riding modes that are included by default; Dynamic and Dynamic Pro modes are added by the extra Riding Package Pro. The R 1300 RT has an integrated radio system and a 10.25-inch TFT display, which sets it apart from other BMW 1300cc models.

The Basic Variant, Triple Black, Impulse, and Option 719 Camargue are the four different colour schemes available for the R 1300 RT. When the Bavarian brand will eventually bring the R 1300 RT to India is yet to be confirmed.
